Aloak Content Manager
Aloak Content Manager provides you with the ability to add text and graphics to your website easily using a
simple web-based form. Use Content Manager to keep your website content up-to-date and accurate.
- no knowledge of HTML or programming is required
- create up to 3 templates(*) which define the appearance, layout, and
ELEMENTS in which you can add or modify content. A template can be used for several web pages.
- 5 ELEMENT types are available:
|image||gif, jpg, etc.
|list||data record with title and body
|text||block of text
|toc||Table of Contents
Use the text list ELEMENT to include a flexible number of items in a template: job listings, for instance.
- Management Tools let you:
- add or remove pages using your custom-defined templates
- add or edit the content of any ELEMENT on any page
* additional templates may be purchased, if required
Here is an example of a website
where the content has been added using Content Manager. Make changes to the website using the
Content Manager Admin
tools. Remember that you have to use the login test and password test for this demo.
Things To Know
Any priviledge level defined may access your Content Manager.
To add content to your website:
1. Start Content Manager.
(When your content managed site is made live
we can put a link to Content Manager right on your main
page somewhere -- maybe behind an image --
so that you have easy access to Content
2. Log in with your administrator login and password.
(On this demo site, these are 'test' and 'test')
3. Once logged in,
Click the link in the Edit Page column
which corresponds to the page name you
want to edit (from the Page Name column)
If you get a prompt telling you this
page contains both secure and non-secure
information, etc, click on 'YES'.
4. Click on the blue image icon.
If an content has already been added for this
page, you will see it displayed, otherwise,
you will see the olive green icon.
A. To add a new image, or replace the one
displayed, click the browse button at the
bottom of the page (you may need to scroll
B. Locate the image you want to add on your
hard drive, or CD drive. Once you find it
and it, click on it so that it shows up in
the Filename: input box.
C. Click Open. The filename should now
appear in the input box beside the Browse
D. Click Load. Your image is now displayed
on your screen.
E. Click Confirm, if this is the correct
image, or Revise to retrieve a different
image. (You can click Cancel if you decide
you don't want to proceed at all).
If you click Confirm, and again get the
message about secure and non-secure elements,
F. Click the link at the bottom, which says
'Return to main page'.
G. To view the page to which your image has
just been added, click on the page name in
the Page Name column.
